The County of Hawai‘i reports that all of the county’s absentee walk-in voting sites, including the Pāhoa Community Center and the Pahala Community Center, will be open on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, now that the threat of Hurricane Hector has passed, according to the Office of Elections.
The Pāhoa and Pahala sites were closed on Wednesday, Aug. 8, as the hurricane moved towards the south of Hawai‘i Island, but kept going without making landfall.
Absentee walk-in voting throughout the island ends on Thursday, Aug. 9. The official Primary Election Day is on Saturday, Aug. 11.
