Public Meeting on Kawailani Street Improvement Project

The Department of Public Works will hold a public meeting about the Kawailani Street Improvement Project.

Kawaialani Street Project

It will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course, located at 340 Haihai St., in the Multipurpose Room, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The meeting is hosted by the Office of Council Member Sue Lee Loy to present a status update and the next steps for the project. Representatives from the Department of Public Works and Jas. W. Glover Ltd. will be present to answer questions/concerns regarding the project.

Please be advised that temporary road closures will occur on portions of Kawailani Street between Kapualani Street and Naniakea Street on Monday, July 16 to approximately Friday, July 20. Hawai‘i Electric Light Company will be doing night work from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to relocate the utility poles. Special off-duty police officers will be posted in the area to facilitate traffic movement. No power outages are expected while the work is being performed.
