South Kohala Brush Fire

The Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Ho‘ohana Street, north of the intersection of North Kaniku Drive at 10:22 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
Four engines, six tankers and one medic was on the scene. 15 total units responded to the fire.
The description of the scene was very dry open land, covered with kiawe forest and grass. The situation found at the scene was trade winds at about 30 mph, active burning of brush and kiawe forest.
The cause of the fire is undetermined. The fire was under control by 8 a.m., Thursday, June 28.
