ʻCivility in the Workplaceʻ Workshop Offered June 1
Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center will present a workshop on conflict resolution in the workplace as part of its “Tools to Transform Conflict” Training Series on June 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hawai‘i Innovation Center at Hilo located at 117 Keawe Street.
Led by Diane Petropulos, “Civility in the Workplace: Conflict Resolution and Managerial Mediation” will include hands-on practice to address frustrating workplace behaviors and challenges.
“This training covers the financial costs of conflict, frustrating workplace behaviors, their consequences, and how to use collaborative skills to lay the foundation for a civil organization,” said Petropulos.
This workshop has previously been offered on the islands of Hawai‘i and Maui for state agencies, health care entities and nonprofit organizations. Participants will learn techniques and tools for immediate use in daily interactions.
Diane Petropulos, M.A., has experience in mediation, facilitation and training services in Hawai‘i since 2001. She is a former lecturer of the Human Resource Management Program at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, and has mediated hundreds of Circuit, District, and Small Claims Court cases for Maui Mediation Services, where she currently serves on the Board of Directors.
Tuition for the workshop is $75 and includes lunch. Group discounts and partial scholarships for individuals are available. To register, visit https://civilityintheworkplace.eventbrite.com or contact Erika Ginnis at Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center at (808) 935-7844 ext. 1, or erika@hawaiimediation.org.
