Hōkūleʻa Mahalo Hawaii Sail to Visit Big Island
The world-famous Hōkūleʻa will come to Hawai‘i Island as part of the “Hōkūleʻa, Mahalo Hawaii Sail,” to present a free public event.
Free Public Canoe Tours and Education Expo will be held at Kailua-Kona Pier on March 30 and 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Hōkūleʻa will be at the Wailoa Boat Harbor in Hilo on April 21.
The Mahalo, Hawaiʻi Sail gives the Polynesian Voyaging Society an opportunity to thank Hawaiʻi’s people, bring Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia home to all of Hawaiʻi, share lessons learned from the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage and deepen the organization’s connection and understanding of the important work being done here in the islands to care for the Earth.
During the port visits, PVS will engage with schools and organizations through outreach events, service projects, crew presentations and canoe tours.
