In a joint effort to support survivors of Rat Lungworm and their caregivers, Hilo Medical Center and Puna Community Medical Center will hold Rat Lungworm support groups on Tuesday, Jan. 9, and Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Neighborhood Place of Puna.

The Jan. 9 support group will feature members from the working group on treating rat lungworm as guest speakers. The Feb. 13 meeting will feature Dr. William Herrera, Neurologist at Hilo Medical Center, as guest speaker.

Rat Lungworm researchers, those who suspect they may have had the disease, and those interested in supporting the group are welcome to attend.

Neighborhood Place of Puna is located at 16-105 Opukahaia Street in Kea‘au across the highway from the Humane Society.
