“A veritable plethora of lava flows are rolling down Pulama Pali—breakouts from the 61G flow, which began nearly a year-and-a-half ago,” reported Tropical Visions Video photographer and videographer Mick Kalber about Paradise Helicopters’ Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, overflight.

The new pali flows began last Monday morning, Dec. 18.

Lava once again rolled over the property of Jack Thompson, the last resident left in Royal Gardens, Kalber reported. Lava has consumed much of the kipuka of trees to the south of the beleaguered subdivision.

“Paradise Helicopters Pilot Sean Regehr flew stealthily through heavy winds to get us close to Pele’s fire,” Kalber said.
