O‘ahu Marines to Conduct ‘Lethal Breeze’ Anti-Terrorism Exercise

Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), a U.S. Marine Corps facility and air station on the Mokapu Peninsula of windward O’ahu, as well as several local, state and federal agencies, are scheduled to participate in an Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (AT/FP) exercise called “Lethal Breeze” on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 12 and 13, aboard the installation.

The purpose of the exercise is prepare for all hazards type incidents through development of comprehensive base safety, security and emergency response plans and routine exercises; prevent manmade threats to MCBH through successful implementation of force protection measures.

There will be increase activity aboard the installation to include smoke, waterfront operations, and increased traffic on and off base.

The Giant Voice system will also be used during the exercise.

Exercises such as Lethal Breeze are essential to respond to manmade and natural threats in accordance with plans and procedures developed through exercise lessons learned and recover from all hazard threats by cooperating with local, state and federal response forces by providing for the physical and emotional needs of the base community.
