The Big Island Sports Academy (BISA) will host a one-day youth basketball clinic on Sept. 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Panaewa Park gymnasium in Hilo. Boys and girls in grades four through six are eligible to participate.

The clinic will provide foundational knowledge of all aspects of basketball skill development through drills and progressive teaching for youth seeking to improve their game. Coach John Livsey, BISA basketball coordinator, will lead the full-day event along with local youth coaches. Livsey has more than two decades of successful coaching experience for youth at all age levels.

“I am really pleased to have this opportunity provided by the Big Island Sports Academy to continue to help the young kids on the Big Island,” said Coach Livsey. “I have observed firsthand the enthusiasm of our keiki and want to do what I kind to nurture this kind of love for the game.”
