The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for the west-facing shores of Ka‘ū, Kona and Kohala effective mid-day today through tomorrow morning.
Surf up to 12 feet is forecast.
A High Surf Warning means there is a significant threat to life and property from dangerous surf.
High surf may coincide with high tides this evening and again early tomorrow morning.
Oceanfront residents, all ocean activities and beachgoers along the affected shores are advised to be on the alert for dangerous surf. Beach or road closures may occur without notice. Exercise caution due to the unpredictability of huge swells and dangerous surf.
