Big Island Surf Forecast

Hilo side: Wave heights are forecast to be head high to slightly overhead today.

Kona side: Wave heights are expected to be chest/head high today with sets up to overhead at the best breaks.

South: Wave heights are expected to be chest/head high today with sets up to overhead at the best breaks.

Our current west-northwest swell continues to show Thursday. This swell should ease through the weekend. A small northwest pulse could fill in Sunday and early next week. The second half of next week we expect some stronger pulses of surf energy.

Nothing significant expected out of the South Pacific.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
