Big Island Surf Forecast
Hilo side: Wave heights are forecast to be knee/shoulder high today.
Kona side: Wave heights are expected to be waist/chest high today with sets up to head high or overhead at the best spots.
South: Wave heights are expected to be waist/chest high today with sets up to head high or overhead at the best spots.
Our current west-northwest swell is forecast to peak Saturday afternoon at advisory levels. A larger northwest swell is forecast for early next week at possibly warning levels.
Nothing significant expected out of the South Pacific but activity is starting to pick up a little bit.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
