Free Child Car Safety Seat Inspection

Kona Community Hospital and the state Department of Health will hold a free child car safety seat inspection on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kealakekua Ranch Center (below Choicemart).

A certified child passenger technician will be on hand to check safety equipment.

According to safety statistics, three our of four child passengers are unsafe because nearly 73% of child restraints are not installed or used correctly.

But when used correctly, child safety seats can reduce deaths as much as 71% for infants and 54% in toddlers.
