Deserving Big Island Family Receives Car
In the spirit of giving this holiday season, First Insurance Company of Hawaii and Auto Body Hawaii donated a 2014 Nissan Versa to the Rochelle Javillo ‘ohana of Kohala, who were chosen to receive the auto by Big Island Giving Tree.
Rochelle, her father and her two sons have experienced serious health issues over the past several years and need a reliable vehicle to travel to and from their medical appointments.
FICOH donated the car, Auto Body Hawaii donated the labor and material costs and New City Nissan donated the parts.
The presentation was held on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Auto Body Hawaii in Kailua-Kona.
In attendance at the presentation were Rochelle, FICOH Associates Reynold Doi and Jim Balsai, Dale Matsumoto and Tracey Taylor of Auto Body Hawaii, and Rhonda Bell of the Big Island Giving Tree.

This is the eighth vehicle donated by Auto Body Hawaii during its 10-year Community Car Gifting Program and its first joint effort with FICOH.
“It’s our way of giving back to the community,” said Matsumoto. “We are helping people who are trying their best to get by in life, working hard but facing challenges many of us can’t imagine.”
“We are here to help those people know as the ‘working poor,'” said Bell. “The ones that can’t get assistance from the agencies because they make just a little too much and can’t get the help they need. The Javillo family has been hit hard, we are so blessed to be able to help them.”
Auto Body Hawaii is located at 73-5601 Maiau St.
