BBBS Hawai‘i Island Makes Donation to United Way
Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i Island presented a check for $602.96 to Hawai‘i Island United Way—the proceeds collected at the organization’s two-day, 1st Annual BBBS Basketball Clinic fundraiser held in September at the Panaewa Recreational Complex covered courts in Hilo..
This effort was coordinated by Kamea Wong, community-based case manager with Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i Island.
Additional support was received in the form of donations from Hui Drywall, Kamea Designs and cash donations which covered lunches for youth participants and the registration fee for youth with financial need.
The BBBS team reinforces its mission to provide children facing adversity with strong, enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better—forever.
Collaborations with partner agencies like HIUW help make a positive difference and build a healthier community.
