Honeybees are “checking in” to the Fairmont Orchid, a luxury hotel along the Kohala Coast of Hawai‘i Island.

The resort recently welcomed a few new additions to its ‘ohana—two queen bees and approximately 15,000 honeybees, the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority reported in a recent newsletter.

All are comfortably settling into two new Flow Hive “hotels,” ideally located in close proximity to the delicious kiawe tree blossoms near the resort.

Adding to Fairmont Orchid’s existing sustainability initiatives, the resort plans to introduce the honey into its food, beverage and spa offerings.
