Penn Gets New Opponent for UFC 199
BJ Penn will have a new opponent for his return from retirement at UFC 199.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced on Wednesday that Penn will face Cole Miller to lead the preliminary bouts for the UFC pay-per-view, scheduled for June 4 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Penn, 37, was supposed to face Dennis Siver, but an undisclosed injury has forced the fellow 37-year-old fighter to withdraw from the card.
Miller, a 32-year-old from Augusta, Ga., was part of a no decision result in his last bout in December due to an accidental eye poke. His last win came on Jan. 14, 2014 against Sam Sicilia.
Stepping into the octagon for the first time since July 2014, Penn is looking for his first win since beating Matt Hughes in November of 2010.
Penn’s bout will not air on the PPV portion of the card, but will be shown on FS1 during its coverage of the preliminary fights.
