Genki Sushi Looks at Potential Hilo Location

Genki Sushi may be making its way into Hilo.
A Hilo location would mark the 16th location in the state and second on the Big Island.
Mary Hansen, Chief Administration Officer for Genki Sushi, brought clarity to ongoing rumors that the Genki could be opening in the Prince Kuhio Plaza.
Hansen told Big Island Now Tuesday morning that the company is indeed seeking out details on the “possibility” of opening in Hilo.
A future site for the restaurant remains up in the air, as no information about locales or anticipated timelines were immediately up for disclosure.
Genki Sushi has 14 currently open locations throughout the state, with a 15th set to open in Honolulu on July 1.
Kailua-Kona’s Kona Commons Shopping Center has the sole Big Island location.
The company also operates restaurants in California and Washington.
