ILWU, Kaiser Reach Tentative Contract Agreement
Kaiser Permanente Hawai’i and International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 142 have reached a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. Kaiser announced the agreement on Thursday.
Employees are expected to conduct a ratification vote beginning on April 18 and will conclude on April 21.
The contract will affect about 95 diagnostic imaging employees at facilities throughout the state, effective January 1, 2017. It provides wage and market adjustments, enhanced professional development leave, and benefit changes, including a move to a new medical plan and new retiree medical benefits.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to work collaboratively with the union on a new contract that provides our diagnostic imaging employees with competitive wages and benefits,” said Jean Melnikoff, vice president of human resources at Kaiser Permanente Hawai’i. “Our employees are at the heart of Kaiser Permanente, and we share their commitment to offer high quality care and service to our patients every day.”
