Chaminade senior Chelsea Camello was awarded her second PacWest Conference Weekly Softball Award on Tuesday following an almost flawless performance in the pitcher’s circle last week.

Camello, a 2012 Waiakea High School graduate, was named PacWest Co-Pitcher of the Week after firing a one-hit shutout last Friday against BYU-Hawai’i in Chaminade’s 5-0 victory. She never allowed a runner to reach scoring position and only walked two in her fourth victory of the season.

On the season, Camello has a 4-13 record with a 6.10 earned run average in 23 appearances.

Earlier this year, Camello earned her first PacWest Pitcher of the Week honor after shutting out Saint Martin’s in 4 1/3 innings of relief on Feb. 13.

Next up for Camello and Chaminade is a home series with the University of Hawai’i at Hilo. The two rivals will play a doubleheader on Friday at Central O’ahu Regional Park. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
