HPA Community Book Club Selects ‘Euphoria’ for May Meeting
The selection for the next Hawai’i Preparatory Academy Community Book Club is “Euphoria” by the award-winning novelist Lily King.
HPA’s next club meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Dryer Memorial Library, located on the school’s upper campus.
The group is led by the library’s librarian, Lois Inman, and Upper School English teacher Jamie Johnson.
“Euphoria” is a New York Times Best Seller that is inspired by events in the life of anthropologist Margaret Mead. Three young anthropologists are caught in a passionate love triangle that threatens their bonds, careers, and their lives in the book set in the 1930’s.
King’s novel “Euphoria” is a Kirkus Prize Winner, a National Book Critics Circle Finalist, and NPR Best Book of the Year.
Book club meetings are open to the public and are free of charge. Participants are invited to bring a snack to share.
