KapohoKine Adventures announced Wednesday morning that after spending five years based out of Downtown Hilo, the company’s flagship store will relocate to the main lobby of the newly refurbished Grand Naniloa Hilo, a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.

Under an $18.5 million renovation of the Hilo Naniloa Hotel and Golf Club, KapohoKine Adventures was signed as the exclusive activity agent for the hotel.

“We are thrilled to have been asked by Grand Naniloa Hilo to be part of its new venture on Banyan Drive,” said Tony DeLellis, owner of KapohoKine Adventures. “We have spent 12 years building a solid base of adventure tours that incorporate Hawai’i Island’s natural environment and host culture, so having the opportunity to educate a much larger number of visitors about the importance and value of sustainable tourism is exciting.”

KapohoKine Adventures will sell eco-focused adventure tours, ziplining at Zipline through Paradise, and activities from various vendors, in partnership with Hawai’i Performance Partners.

The new store will be located in the main lobby of the hotel, open to both guests and the general public, and is expected to start offering activities beginning April 1.

Operations out of the company’s baseyards in Pepeekeo and Kailua-Kona will remain intact. The facilities serve as the marketing and management base for the company’s tours, along with its education facility for guide training and recertification.
