“One of the core values we emphasize here at First Insurance is building the future for our community,” said Jeff Shonka, First Insurance Chief Executive Officer. “It is our mission to support local organizations that strive to improve Hawai’i’s future.”

In 1998, the FICOH Charitable Foundation was established to serve the local community in four main focus areas, including education, economic development, health and social services, and arts & culture.

Along with yearly giving, the foundation also matches donations made by FICOH associates to other nonprofit organizations. Those donations include $25,000 to the American Red Cross, $25,000 to Diamond Head Theatre, $25,000 to the Hawai’i Public Television Foundation, and $15,285 to Aloha United Way.
