Woman Charged Following Several Kona Burglaries

Forty-eight-year-old Deborah Craig has been charged with seven offenses following a series of Kailua-Kona burglaries.

Craig, an Ocean View resident, was named by the Hawai’i Police Department of a suspect in three burglaries between Oct. 14 and Oct. 23.

The first burglary was on Oct. 14 at a home on the 77-200 block of Maliko Street. The second was on Oct. 16 at a home on the 77-600 block of Princes Keelikolani Drive, and the third burglary was on Oct. 23 at a home on the 76-600 block of Aliʻi Drive.

Craig, also known as Deborah Dias, was arrested on Thursday and taken to the Kona police cellblock as Area II Criminal Investigations Section detectives continued to investigate the burglaries.

On Friday, HPD charged Craig with three counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft, one count of attempted second-degree theft, and one count of fourth-degree criminal property damage.

Craig’s bail was set at $19,250 and she remains at the cellblock awaiting her initial court appearance, scheduled for Monday.
