Volcano Village Artist Hui Thanksgiving Tour
Thanksgiving weekend in Volcano will not only be a time of being thankful, but also a celebration of art in the community.
The Volcano Village Artists Hui will host its 29th annual Art Studio Tour & Sale from Nov. 27 through Nov. 29.
Artists will invite the public into their studios to view artwork in a range of media forms.
A total of six studios and galleries will participate, located in the Volcano Village.
Erik World, known for his high-fired function pottery; Ira Ono, specialist in fine art; Misato & Michael Mortara, creator of hand blown art glass; Zeke Israel, raku, jewelry and card artist; photographer Mary Goodrich; Pam Barton with fiber work; Margaret Barnaby, woodblock print expert; and Lisa Louise Adams, artist of quilts, paintings, pottery, and books, will all participate in the studio tour and sale.
Guest artists Randy Sutton, Scott Mitchell and Charlotte Forbes Perry will also have items on display from raku pottery, to ethnic and contemporary jewelry and ceramic tiles and stained glass.
Volcano Art Center’s Niaulani Campus will also be a stop on the tour with Hui members Elizabeth Miller and Cynee Gillette-Wenner’s work on display. Time Freeman with pit-fired volcano landscape vessels will also be among VAC’s featured artists.
The program preview will also be on display at VAC’s Niaulani campus and will include work by artists who will offer classes at VAC in 2016.
Volcano Village’s Thanksgiving weekend Studio Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
During the Sunday tour, a drawing will take place for art pieces contributed by each of the artists.
