Construction work continues today on the 9-foot asphalt concrete shoulders on both sides of the Waikoloa Road, from Highway 190 to Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway.

Road work is scheduled between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during all weekdays, except on holidays and weekends.

The project should be completed within two to three months, weather and construction conditions permitting.

The project involves grading, building the base with gravel and then paving over the nine foot shoulder approximately one mile at a time. Crews initially began preparing the shoulders in the beginning of September.
