The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of the Big Island this afternoon. Moderate to heavy rain is being seen on radar near Waikoloa Village. The advisory is posted through 6:45 p.m. this evening.
Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Waipio Valley, Waikoloa Beach Resort, Waikii, Upolu Airport, Saddle Road Junction, Puako, Mahukona, Kawaihae, Waimea, Honokaa and Hawi.
The weather feature to our north that is causing these unsettled weather conditions is expected to continue to distance itself from the islands. As that occurs, the threat for heavy rain and flooding will diminish. Trade winds are expected back Thursday and Friday along with more stable conditions.
