An 18-year-old woman involved in a domestic dispute Sunday has been released by the Hawai’i Police Department.

The dispute sent a 20-year-old man to Kona Community Hospital with a laceration to his left forearm. He was transferred to Kaiser Medical Center on Oahu, where he remains in critical condition.

Synise Santos was arrested just after midnight on Monday and remained at the Kona police cellblock as detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continued to investigate.

On Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors and detectives decided to release Santos pending further investigation.
