A Small Craft Advisory is posted for Big Island leeward and southeast waters through 6:00 a.m. Thursday. Northeast winds up to 30 knots are forecasted along with rough seas of 6 to 12 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today
Today we expect high temperatures from 79° to 85°. Winds will continue to be out of the east from 15 to 20 mph. Leeward sides should be mostly sunny in the morning with some clouds building in the afternoon and scattered showers. Windward sides should be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight with likely windward showers. Partly cloudy for leeward spots with scattered showers and clearing as the night goes on. Trade winds are forecasted from 15 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 68° to 74° are expected.
Looking Ahead
Breezy trades are expected to gradually diminish over the next couple of days. Showers should continue to favor windward and mauka areas, especially overnight into early mornings. Some of the larger showers will reach leeward locations at times. The lee side of the Big Island will see some showers each afternoon. Slightly windier trades will return over the weekend.
