Red Cross Seeks Waikoloa Volunteers

The Hawai’i Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking volunteers in the Waikoloa area. Officials say that training for disaster services are provided free of charge.

Interested volunteers should visit the Hawai’i Red Cross website, where they will find a volunteer application. Upon completing the application form, Red Cross officials will contact and sign volunteers up for training classes.

Trainings will be held at the Waikoloa Village Community Association’s Community Room on the following dates:

Disaster Services: An Overview – Saturday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Shelter Fundamentals – Saturday, June 6 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Disaster Assessment Fundamentals – Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Disaster Action Team Orientation – Saturday, June 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
