Kaiser Welcomes New Big Island Physician

Kaiser Permanente’s Kona Medical Office has receive one of five new care providers to join Kaiser Permanente Hawai’i in the area of family medicine, genetics, and otolaryngology.

Dr. Wynette Amazona received her medical degree from the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu, where she completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency. Dr. Amazona also completed a family medicine residency at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Mich. After graduating, she worked as a hospital medicine physician. In family medicine, Dr. Amazona is board certified.

An additional four new care providers are practicing on Oahu. Rebecca Yee Bassett, MS, CGC and Dr. Julie Won Ireland are working at the Mapunapuna Medical Office. Dr. Janette Bruken has begun practice at Kapolei Clinic, and Dr. Jae Lim has joined the practice at the Moanalua Medical Center.

The five new physicians have joined more than 600 Kaiser Permanente physicians and other health care providers in the state. Kaiser Permanente reportedly has over 230,000 members throughout Hawai’i.
