A partial lane closure began Monday morning on Kaiwi Street in Kailua-Kona due to the replacement of utility poles in the area.

Hawai’i Electric Light says that one lane of traffic will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until the expected completion day, Friday.

The lane closure is necessary as crews work to replace several utility poles beginning at the Hawai’i Electric Light baseyard, continuing west toward Kuakiki Highway.

Delays should be anticipated by motorists and the use of alternate routes is encourage.
