A fire Tuesday afternoon in the Na Hale o Keauhou complex caused approximately $200,000 in damage.

According to the Hawai`i County Fire Department, crews arrived at 1:22 p.m. to the Alii Drive housing and condominium area to find the carport and second floor bedroom of one of the homes fully engulfed in flames and spreading to the roof of the two-story multi-family building.

A resident of the affected building noted that about 30 minutes after arriving to the location, she smelled smoke and saw her car on fire, triggering her to leave the house and call 911.

The cause of Tuesday’s fire is undertermined.
