Honaunau Woman Charged in Credit Card Theft

A 23-year-old Kona woman has been charged with multiple offenses for the alleged use of a credit card from a stolen wallet.

On Jan. 8, a 37-year-old Kealakekua man reported to police that his wallet had been stolen and several unauthorized transactions had been charged to his credit card.

On Monday, police arrested Kimi Keani Bento of Honaunau in connection with the case. She was charged with 19 crimes, including theft of a credit card and multiple counts of forgery, identity theft, theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Bail for Bento was set at $1,400.
