Crooner and concert producer Brian Evans says he’s moving his Maui Celebrity Series to the Big Island.
Evans himself will headline the first event in the new Big Island Celebrity Series at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on Dec. 28 with actor William Shatner making a special appearance, the singer announced in an Aug. 31 media release.
Hilton Waikoloa Village Marketing Director Leanne Pletcher confirmed that talks were underway for the series. “We are working on finalizing the details for the event on December 28 at Hilton Waikoloa Village,” Pletcher told Big Island Now. “At this point we do not have any additional information for any other performances.”

Evans said in an email to Big Island Now that he’s “working on dates with Rob Schneider, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers” and others for concerts in 2014.
