Two free financial management classes are being offered this month by Alu Like, Inc.

A private non-profit organization, Alu Like is a community-based program that assists native Hawaiians in their efforts to achieve social and economic self-sufficiency.

Attendees will learn the basics of budgeting, savings and credit.

The first class will be offered Thursday, March 7, in West Hawaii from 3-7 p.m. at Alu Like’s Kailua-Kona Office located at 74-5616 Alapa Street, No. A-6.

A class will be offered in Hilo on March 29. It is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon at 1990 Kino‘ole St., No. 104.

Clients must attend designated sessions to receive a certificate of attendance and completion.

Financial management classes are just one of the community services offered by Alu Like.

The organization provides community economic development, business assistance, employment preparation, training, library services, educational and childcare services to fill identified needs in the native Hawaiian community, including families with young children.
