12 motorists were arrested the week of Jan. 27-Feb. 2 for driving under the influence of an intoxicant on Big Island roadways. A total of 88 DUI arrests had been made for the year by the end of last week.

The suspect in the Dec. 29, 2024, theft is a local/Hawaiian woman possibly in her early 20s, between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-5, weighing 130 to150 pounds.

The alleged theft happened just before 8 p.m. Dec. 18, 2024, in a bank parking lot on Pauahi Street in Hilo. The unidentified man suspected in the incident fled toward Aupuni Street after being confronted by the vehicle’s owner and a bystander.
