The Hawai’i Museum of Contemporary Art and its administrator, East Hawai’i Cultural Center, will present the Big Island Photo Expo in June.

Currently, the organizations are calling for entries that fit into five categories: nature, portrait, urban, abstract, and black and white. The juried show has both master and open divisions in each of the categories.

This year’s juror will be Laurel Schultz, who has taught photography at the University of Washington, Photographic Center Northwest, and at Kona’s Donkey Mill Art Center.

Entries must use an original photograph as basis for the final image. Traditional, digital, or alternative photographic processes may be used.
