For the third time in the past month, an inmate has escaped from the Hale Nani Correctional Facility.
Big Island police said 20-year-old Joshua Kalili of Hōnaunau allegedly left the Hale Nani facility Sunday between 2:30 p.m. and 2:50 p.m.
He is described as 5-foot-9, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts. He is not considered dangerous.

Dallas Runyon, 32, of Ka`u left the facility without approval on July 21. More recently, Ryan Jeffries-Hamar, 31, of Kailua-Kona escaped from Hale Nani on Aug. 14. Both are still at large.
Hale Nani is a component of the Hawai`i County Correctional Center. The facility located in Panaewa, on Highway 11 just outside of Hilo, is the focus of HCCC’s reintegration program for inmates who will be released on the Big Island and those on work-release programs.
