NHCH Names Employee of the Quarter

Ryan Gentry, a certified surgical technician in the hospital’s surgical services department, has been named North Hawai‘i Community Hospital’s employee of the quarter.

Gentry has worked at NHCH for 21 years and was recognized for his exceptional skills in the operating room.

“Ryan goes above and beyond for our patients,” said Cindy Kamikawa, president of North Hawai‘i Community Hospital.

Physicians and staff commendedGentry’s strong work ethic, expertise and commitment to excellence.

Physicians also commended his skills during emergencies saying that Gentry is always calm, prepared and extremely capable of handling any situation.

“Ryan started here 21 years ago as a housekeeper and had taken incredible initiative to get the education he needs to rise to the level he is at today,” said Director of Nursing Julie Stanforth-Zanoff.

Ryan was also recognized for his abilities as a teacher and preceptor for others.

Ryan was recognized at a hospital ceremony with co-workers on Wednesday morning, Oct. 18, 2017.
