Minimal Surf Today, King Tides Expected

Small Craft Advisory: In place through 6 p.m. Thursday.
Special Weather Statement: Coastal flooding associated with spring tides (King tides) is possible over the next couple of days. The greatest potential for flooding is midday and in the mid to late afternoon hours of Friday into early next week.

Big Island Surf Forecast
Hilo side: Surf heights are expected to be knee/waist high today.
Kona side: Surf heights are expected to be knee/waist high today.
South: Surf heights are expected to be knee/waist high today. Spots catching the swell could be up to tummy/chest high on the sets by Friday/Saturday.
Our current south-southwest is slowly fading out. South-southeast swell is forecast to gradually fill in Thursday and into the weekend… but still pretty small. Nothing significant is forecast out of the South Pacific at this time.
Trade swell is forecast to drop a bit through the weekend as trade winds weaken. Early next week they could bump back up to knee/waist/chest high as the winds pick back up.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
