Hilo side: Wave heights are forecast knee/shoulder high today for the best breaks.
Kona side: Wave heights are expected to be knee/thigh high at the best breaks with waist high waves on the sets.
South: Wave heights are expected to be knee/waist high at the best breaks with tummy/chest high waves on the sets.
Our current northwest swell is forecast to drop to leftovers by the weekend. Very small reinforcement expected on the 13th but it will be greatly shadowed for the Kona side of the Big Island. A stronger pulse is on the radar for the 16th. Will keep an eye on it.
A small southwest swell is expected to slowly fade out over the next couple days, getting down to traces today.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
