Wind Advisory Posted for Gusts up to 50 mph

A Wind Advisory is posted through 6 p.m. Wednesday for east winds from 20 to 30 mph, gusting to 50 mph.
A Gale Warning is posted for the ʻAlenuihāhā channel and waters to the south of the Big Island through 6 p.m. Thursday.
A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all other Hawaii County waters through 6 p.m. Thursday.
A High Surf Advisory is posted for east facing shores until 6 p.m. Friday.

Looking Ahead
Trade winds are forecast to be strong and gusty into the holiday weekend. Low clouds and showers are expected for our usual windward and mauka spots with some showers passing into leeward areas from time to time. Showers could be especially active Wednesday night and Thanksgiving day as disturbance passes overhead. High clouds will also move across the islands over the next couple of days, adding to the cloudiness. Trade winds are expected to ease late in the weekend, with fewer showers expected.

Mostly cloudy for windward spots with showers likely. Hazy for the Kona side with with clear skies in the morning and building clouds in the afternoon and isolated showers. High temperatures from 79° to 84°. Winds will be out of the northeast from 15 to 30 mph, gusting to 50 mph.
