County Seeks Summer Fun Program Hires

PIXABAY children playingTemporary summer job hires are wanted.

The Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation is looking for adults interested in taking part in the 2016 Summer Fun Program.

Summer Fun activity aides will earn $11 an hour, and activity technicians will earn $14 an hour.

Applicants can make note of the district they prefer to work in, but recreation sites are determined by enrollment levels and program needs.

At the time of employment, applicants must be at least 18 years-old, possess current Fire Aid certification, submit a completed Summer Fun application, and be available from May 31 through July 15.

Summer Fun will begin on June 6, following a mandatory four-day training period for all temporary employees.

Applications can be found on the Hawai’i County P&R webpage; at the Department’s main office located at 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 6 in Hilo; the Recreation Division Office located at 799 Pi’ilani Street in Hilo; and at various gymnasiums across the island.

Completed application are due by Tuesday, Feb. 16.
