Holualoa Ali’i Kai Community to Gain New Park

A new park in the Holualoa Ali’i Kai Subdivision will break ground on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Mayor Billy Kenoi, County Council Chairman Dru Mamo Kanuha, and other dignitaries will join together to commemorate the beginning of the 1.6 acre neighborhood park. The public is invited to the ground breaking and blessing ceremony, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., at the parks 76-6183 Pakalana Road location.

The children’s playground, accessible bathrooms, and parking lot will be built by Kona-Ka’u Services and Supplies, Inc. Additional work, including lighting, fencing, a security gate, landscaping, and an irrigation system will also be part of the construction of the new community addition.

March 2016 is the park’s anticipated opening date.
