Military Convoys Scheduled through May 4

Oahu-based service members began their convoy Tuesday morning between Kawaihae Harbor and Pohakuloa Training Area. The convoys, announced by United States Army officials, are expected to last daily through Monday, May 4 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Roads used in the convoy include Akoni Pule Corridor, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway, and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway. During the travel, military police will escort the convoys.

Local authorities, military units, and the PTA Department of Army police are working together to coordinate the activity in support of unit training.

Motorists driving along the specified roadways during the scheduled times are advised to remain alert and use caution.
