The local event planning and catering company The Feeding Leaf is premiering a “Chocolate Soirée” dinner ahead of the Big Island Chocolate Festival on Thursday, May 7, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Kokoleka Lani Farms.

The cacao-based meal will be seven-courses of savory and sweet utilizing chocolate straight from the farm.  A lineup of notable chefs will be whipping up a creative food storm, with assistance from culinary students from the University of Hawai‘i Center—West Hawai‘i Campus.

The evening will begin in the farm owners’ retail shop with hors d’oeuvres prepared by students, followed by dinner served family-style in their adjacent home.  Guests will be treated to chocolate cocktails by mixologist and restaurant manager Keith Malini, as well as a fine selections of wine to compliment the chocolatey fare.

The Feeding Leaf General Manager, Les Apoliona, says the dinner event is a fun way to teach guests about local chocolate while enjoying an exclusive dinner at the source.
