HPD Seeks Public’s Help in Solving Firearm Theft

A burglary that occurred at a hunting supply store in December is prompting the Hawai’i Police Department to ask for the public’s assistance in providing information.

According to HPD, on Dec. 18 at 4:23 a.m., Kona Patrol officers responded to reports that someone broke into Blue Water Hunter on the 73-5500 block of Kauhola Street in Kaloko Industrial Park.

The alleged suspect stole 15 hand guns and damaged two others. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $8,600

It was announced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation that a $10,000 reward will be offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft.
