Friday’s performance of the renowned Brothers Cazimero at the Palace Theater in Hilo has been canceled due to the illness of Roland Cazimero, according to the theater’s website.

Cazimero excused himself from the stage during a performance Friday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center and went to hospital for further evaluation, according to the MACC’s CEO, Art Vento. Published reports described his illness as “walking pneumonia.”

Meanwhile, the Brothers’ heralded Saturday performance at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea will go on with Robert Cazimero, his halau and another bass player filling in for Roland, said a Kahilu spokeswoman.

However, anyone who purchased a ticket may also request a refund. Call the Theatre, 885-6868.
