Hilo High School athletic director Sondra Lundvick announced that a make-up date has been announced for her school’s girls basketball game against Kohala High School.
Both squads will meet on Jan. 22 at Kawananakoa Gym in Keaukaha. Tip-off for the junior varsity game is scheduled at 6 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7:30 p.m.
The scheduled Dec. 30 contest was postponed because of bad weather, which caused poor road conditions for Kohala to travel in. Both schools’ athletic directors decided to postpone the game because of those safety concerns and work to reschedule the game.
Hilo, ranked eighth in both the Star-Advertiser Top 10 and ScoringLive.com Power Rankings, holds a 12-5 overall record and 5-1 mark in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation. The Vikings trail only Konawaena (7-0) in the BIIF Division I standings.

Kohala lost for the first time last weekend at Waiakea by the final score of 66-43. The Cowgirls are 5-1 on the season.
